{"id":71,"date":"2014-12-04T10:25:43","date_gmt":"2014-12-04T15:25:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cvi.aphtech.org\/?page_id=71"},"modified":"2015-01-20T09:54:07","modified_gmt":"2015-01-20T14:54:07","slug":"guidelines-for-interview-questions","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cvi.aphtech.org\/?page_id=71","title":{"rendered":"Guidelines for interview questions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Guidelines for The CVI Range Interview Questions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0The interview is a <em>conversation. <\/em>It is critical that the interviewer become familiar with the questions before the interview begins.<\/li>\n<li>Allow at least 30 minutes for the interview. It may take longer\/shorter time depending on the individuals being interviewed and the skill of the interviewee.<\/li>\n<li>DO NOT ask the parent or caregiver to write the answers to the interview questions. It is not intended to be a questionnaire.<\/li>\n<li>If possible, audiotape the interview (with permission). If you must score the interview items during the interview, inform the interviewee that you will need to take notes during the interview.<\/li>\n<li>If there are multiple adults to interview, interview one person at a time.<\/li>\n<li>In general, it is best to begin the interview with the opportunity for the parent or caregiver to \u201ctell their story.\u201d This includes information pertaining to medical history, child\/student\u2019s birth experience, information from medical providers, and family perspectives.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid commenting on or correcting the information provided by family interviewees. Respect their version of their child\u2019s history.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid making personal contributions regarding your experiences with other children who have CVI or experiences from your own life. This is an opportunity for a family to have their story heard.<\/li>\n<li>Do not lead the interviewee toward any particular response. Remind them that there is no incorrect answer to the questions you are asking.<\/li>\n<li>It is the right of the parent or caregiver to opt to not answer a particular question and\/or to end the interview.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Guidelines for The CVI Range Interview Questions \u00a0The interview is a conversation.
